visions.jpg (222393 bytes)Paige Stanton has just buried her husband.  She feels so much guilt about the argument they had prior to his death that she does not feel like living any longer.  Even the weather is a reflection of her gloomy and depressing mood.  The emptiness she feels is so consuming she cannot see the light her sister, Lilly offers her.  She had not known how completely a heart could break.

Paige finally succumbs to her sister's offer and goes to spend the summer in Los Angeles with her.  She discovers her sister's house and the beach surrounding it is full of revelations.  The cottage has a long history of love lost and found and Paige finds herself conveyed into its history.  She also discovers that the sun rising and setting over the ocean and cliffs to the east is so dramatic that her artist's instincts want to capture its opulence.  The radiance on the waters with the sun shining on them is nothing like the murkiness of the Washington state sunrises she was so used to.

She meets Duncan, a handsome beachcomber who immediately becomes a good friend.  Paige feels as though she has known him for years, and is drawn to him in ways she has never felt before.
